Hollywood's Liberal Agenda
We start immediately talking about a particular famous person that is an actress and a singer (although I really don't like her singing or acting) and happens to be a die-hard Democrat. She has starred in movies such as The Mirror Has Two Faces and Yentl and claims that she recently performed her "last" concert. It seems like there has been many "last" concerts for Babs, or also known as Barbra Streisand and thank goodness in my opinion. At one time I veered these Hollywood actors and actresses as an entertaining group of people that have talents in acting and portray their character as written in scripts. Now I see them as political activists that want to push their own thoughts and viewpoints in their line of duty, the movies. For example, Barbra Streisand has called on the Democrats to oppose President Bush's agenda. Why? Well you ask her? Is it even her place to step foot in the political realm? I sure hope that her opinion doesn't have that much bearing on the Democratic Party. Why? People, she wants to control your life. She is the almighty Barbra Streisand and she wants to help the "little" people. Who are the little people? Those that don't act or are as well off as she is. So how do I know what her political agenda is? Well, she has just posted A Call to Conserve on her website that almost mandates what the citizens of California should do to solve the energy crisis. Who is she to say what the Californians should do?
Next Hollywood Idiot is the Pretty Woman of Hollywood, Julia Roberts. This is the only thing I'm going to say about Julia Roberts: She should keep her mouth shut and just act, because that is the only thing that she can do well. We sure as well know that she doesn't use her brain to assemble any logical and rational thoughts. Here is one of her greatest quotes: Actress Julia Roberts said she, too, was going public in politics for the first time after looking up "Republican" in the dictionary. She found it, she said, "just after reptile and right before repugnant. Enough said." What dictionary is she using anyways?

Taxes
So I hear we are getting a tax refund eh? How many of us actually look at our pay stub and figure out how much taxes we pay for our own wages and income? How many of us actually know how much taxes we pay altogether? That is income taxes, social security taxes, land taxes, county taxes, state taxes, cigarette taxes, beer tax, import taxes, export taxes, and you name it, there is a tax for it. So why was the Democrats so against this since in the long run it will help them out? And is Bush actually telling the truth that help is on the way? What is all about this tax cut and how will you benefit? It is true people. We are getting a refund and some of our own money back. There are other things like the death penalty tax that will be phased out in 10 years. Penalty for Death? Like it wasn't already a devastating thing to happen, death, you had to pay for it?
Anyway, that is for another day. But most of these programs will be phased out in 10 years, such as the marriage tax and so on. However, they will be fully reinstated to their percentage as they are this year, after those 10 years have gone by. The Democrats should be all too willing to pass this tax cut. There were probably thinking, "We'll put this stipulation in there so that when we take control of the Senate, the House, and the Presidency in 2004, we can block the Bush tax relief and put in our own numbers." People, this is all too typical of your Democratic party. They have already tried to block these checks (remember they have control of the Senate.) In my opinion, the tax cut is way too small. We should let hardworking Americans keep the money that they worked for...every penny. However we have Government entitlement programs that we pay for (out of our pockets) to fund and we never see a dime back. For example, the welfare program is one of those programs that the Government takes a bit of what you make, and gives it to somebody that is "less fortunate." The socialists want you to think that those people that have wealth have "luck." They don't want you to know that hard work and making ends meet equals success. For those of you mathematically inclined: (Hard Work + Making Ends Meet = Success). The Democrats want you to be more dependent on the Government!!! But that is another subject to address in the future.
Tax breakdown (In terms of an honest day of work.) The Tax Foundation study offered the following breakdown of how many days Americans will have to work in 2001 to meet various tax obligations:Source: Americans work more of Year to Pay Taxes - Posted Friday, April 13, 2001
- 50 days to pay individual income taxes.
- 29 days will be spent working to pay payroll taxes.
- 16 days of work to pay "hidden taxes" such as sales and excise taxes that drive up the cost of nearly all goods and services.
- 10 days will be spent working to pay property taxes.
- 12 days of work to pay their share of corporate income taxes, which are collected from companies but ultimately paid by consumers, employees and shareholders.
- Finally, 5 days working to pay other business and miscellaneous taxes.
