CFR - A Direct Attack on the First Amendment
How would you like it if I came up to you and said that you could not support an organization of your choice because it would be unfair to other people that do not have the ability to donate money to the charity? What about the other charities? Do you think it is fair that you support some charities than the others that are out there? Does this hinder on your First Amendment right? Recently, Campaign Finance Reform passed the Senate and will be signed into law by President Bush. Why all the raucous about this Bill? The problem comes from the "soft money" that leaks into political campaigns. Although, "soft money" only accounts for 15% of all campaign spending it is not proven that this money buys influence from the politicians. I will not go into the details about this bill for you can read the bill and other counter-arguments on Campaign Finance Reform. However, I will make a claim of the unconstitutionality of such a bill to be passed into law. These spineless politicians do not care about our Bill of Rights or Constitution and consistently wipe their rear ends with the foundation of this country.
