The 4th of July...

Politics

Okay, this update may offend, so good!  But, be warned.

    Where do you live?  I bet you live in the United States of America, the home of the free and the free to make your home.  What have you seen in the past couple of years that seems so prevalent in our daily lives?  I don't know about you, but there seems to be an influx of immigrants that our government allows the same benefits we have as Americans.  What we don't know is that they carry their own Patriotism.  I tell you people, their loyalty is not to the greatest nation on the planet, the United States of America, but maybe to some other country where most of their relatives reside.  What we are seeing is the watering down of our way of life and culture.  I do not know about you, but I believe that if people are going to hold the right to call themselves CITIZENS of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, then they must learn what our country stands for and take an oath to loyalty.  If they don't like it, then tough luck...they can go and see if they like living in Russia, or maybe even better yet Communist China.  However, how are we suppose to accomplish this task when our own people do not know our founding fathers of this nation?  How are we suppose to teach these immigrants of our country when the person that teaches cannot even name their Senators, Congressman, or even the President of the United States?  I don't know about you, but when I hear our National Anthem play or some emotional soldier recount what he went through to uphold our freedom, frankly I get sort of choked up.  I get a deep inner sense feeling of respect and the need to share that emotion with that person or persons.  We as Americans need to hold dear those documents that have given us our Right to Liberty, Right to Personal Property, and the Right to the Pursuit of Happiness.  We should be willing to fight for our country in the wake of invasion of a country or ideal that counters the freedoms given to us by our forefathers.  We should stand up to what we believe in and have our voices heard...WE ARE AMERICANS...if not by birthright then by PRINCIPLE and BELIEF of the right to FREEDOM.  I have had my say, now it is up to you to show your true colors on this INDEPENDENCE DAY, the 4th of July.  Have fun out there, take care, eat lots of barbecue, and expect an update on Thursday.  BE PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN.

The Oath of Allegiance for United States Citizenship

I hereby declare, on oath,

  • that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen;

  • that I will support and defend the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic;

  • that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;

  • that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law;

  • that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law;

  • that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and

  • that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.
