Ron Paul is a true American Hero

Ron Paul is this Blogger's choice
The funny thing is most people admire Rudy for his stance on Homeland Security. The the problem is he does not fundamentally understand the consequences that our foreign policy has lead to. Do the Fundamentalist Muslims have a problem with the USA? Absolutely not...they have a problem with America's foreign policy. We need to stop this imperialism.
I think Ron Paul has the appeal from both the Liberals, Conservative Republicans, and Libertarians alike.

Geraldo and his libertarian ties?
Yesterday I heard Geraldo make a statement that made my ears perk up a bit. He said, "The true Republican is more of a Libertarian...". How true is that? The Republicans have ventured so far from their principles that it makes me disappointed of the party today. This is why I am Libertarian. You will find very dedicated, freedom loving individuals that hold true to their principles when it comes to not only politics but also their way of life.
If you want a real Republican (Libertarian) for 2008 then vote for Ron Paul (http://www.ronpaul2008.com/)

Something you won’t find in the 2008 Presidential Candidates
If you are following the presidential hopefuls for 2008 you may find candidates that: You will find this in either Republican or Democrat candidates, but I implore you to find out. Who shows us to be a leader? Who will stand up for individuals and to keep our rightfully earned money? Who will be lead America to be a Great Nation that we are? You won't find leadership in any candidate nor will you notice them to have leadership qualities. A leader is one who will make decisions not based upon polls but what is the right direction for the country. Our country was founded upon the principles of individuality and self-sovereignty…don't let politicians take this away from you. Vote Libertarian! For those who think "it is a wasted vote" watch this on the History of the Libertarian Party.

The Tide in the Affairs of Men
We know that new ideas do not take hold until an intellectual shift stirs the tide of opinion. Copernicus first discovered the heliocentric view of the world yet the Catholic Church would not recognize this as the major idea since it would create "disruption" in the world of man. Economics also shows this trend as it took centuries for man to adopt Laissez Faire economics after Adam Smith pubished The Wealth of Nations in 1776. Present day we find that collectivism seems to take hold and we see Government creating expensive departments with no improvements in our daily life. When will we see the implementation of a more freedom loving society promoted by Milton Friedman or Frédéric Bastiat?

Democrats to be replaced by the Libertarians
If the Democrats are not willing to change with the American people then how are they to survive as a party? Ultra-Liberal figures represent the Democratic Party such as Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, and John Kerry. Are these the people you want to represent your party? Do you want your party depicted as a borderline Socialist Party? If you are fed up with the Left-Wing nuts overtaking your party consider the Libertarian Party.

Libertarian Party in Washington State
I do not like the idea of a "Blanket Primary" nor do I like the Louisiana Primary (top-two). I believe that each respective party should have their own private primary (one that is not funded by the federal government) and choose the candidate best suited to represent the party (Montana Primary). This is common sense as it does not allow votes from across party lines to vote the other party's candidate. It eliminates the possiblity of a Democrat voting for the weaker Republican candidate in order to further their party's nominee. However, since I-872 passed this may help the Libertarians in races in which only one major party candidate runs for an office. This often happens and it is possible for 3rd Party Candidate, hopefully Libertarian, to get a big chunk of the vote if not win the election. This initiative may be a blessing in disguise or not...we'll see in years to come. Now if only we can figure out how to maintain our major party status...

Blue America gets the back seat...
Although it seems like a mandate from the people for Bush's presidency we have to wonder why the Democrats are such big losers. It seems conservatism beat out the Hollywood left, the mainstream media, and the ultra-liberal (borderline socialist) politicians. Why? Why? Why? It is because the Democrats want to empower government to control people's lives. It is because they want you to believe that it is better for them to decide how to spend your paycheck and what government programs your income should fund. It is because they are out of touch with personal freedoms, individual rights, and all the other things that America is known and great for. They really need to start going back to the drawing board and find some direction if they want to continue to be a viable party in America. It is either change with the people or get replaced. I'm sure the Libertarian Party will welcome some of the "Blue Democrats" to build another party for this country. If you are a Democrat do you identify with the Ted Kennedys, Hillary Clintons, and John Kerrys of the world? Do you necessarily believe that Terry McAuliffe is your leader in the fight for freedom and liberties? So if you are a Democrat and pissed off about the state of your party, defect to the Libertarian party and show the Democrats how out of step they are with you and the American people.

Who will you vote for?
Today is the day that Americans go to the polls to select a President for the next 4 years. Whether or not we determine the president tonight or a month from now we should consider what our framers of the constitution intended for this country. Do we want a larger, nanny-state government? Do we want to continue to meddle in foreign entanglements that send our boys in harms way? Do we want a President that flip-flops and makes his decisions based upon polls? Whether you have already decided to vote for a particular candidate please keep this in mind. They both will expand the government, they both do not hold to the principals of our forefathers, they both do not want to see any other third party succeed in the future. Are we a bipartisan nation? Or are we individuals that have our own ideals? Is there only two sides to the political spectrum? This blogger endorses Michael Badnarik for president. If you have not decided please consider casting your ballot for individual freedom and smaller government.

Badnarik Arrested!
It seems that Libertarian Candidate for President Michael Badnarik and Green Party Candidate for President David Cobb recently got arrested by trying to walk across the police barrier to attend the Bush and Kerry debates last Friday. Although I do wish to see more of the major third parties in the debates I do not think that this action was necessary. However, it does give publicity (good or bad) to the party. I believe people are realizing that we need to stop receiving only 2 sides in a debate since there are many other opinions and views on the issues. I'm hoping for the Libertarian Party in the debates in 2008. We need to appeal to the public file a suit to who controls the debate to allow at least more organized 3rd parties like the Libertarians or the Greens.

Rights vs. Privileges, Do you know the difference?
Michael Badnarik, 2004 Presidential Candidate for the Libertarian Party, teaches an 8 hour long class on the Constitution. I have watched this and I highly recommend this to anybody that is American. You will learn what your Government is doing without your knowledge or control. He clearly details the rights and liberties that the government has infringed upon and leave it up to the individual to determine what needs to be done. A lot of eye-opening realizations in his lectures!

Did you enjoy the Democratic National Convention? You should have...you paid for it!
The taxpayers are footing the bill for the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. It doesn't matter if you are Republican, Democrat, Green, or Libertarian...you are paying for these candidates to be in the spotlight to campaign their cause even if you disagree with them. The Libertarian National Convention was purely privately funded as any political convention should. I think these politicians need to step up to the platform and stop leeching from the American Taxpayer. I have no problem with Republicans and Democrats footing the bill for their own convention. Actually it may make people think twice before joining any particular political party.

Unemployed by the Minimum Wage
So what is the big deal about Libertarians and their issue on the minimum wage? The minimum wage is good right? It guarantees people a certain wage that seems "sustainable." It seems pretty fair and the only people it affects are the low-income workers anyway right? Wrong! Minimum Wage does more harm than good.
For example, you are an unskilled worker. You desperately need a job so that you can learn some type of skill to potentially earn more. You apply for a job doing...let's say entry-level computer work. Assume that you have no prior knowledge of computers. Well, at any cost you would like to take this job because you will be trained to learn a valuable skill. You and the employer then bring a salary figure to the table. Once negotiation is over you get hired for $3.00/hr.
OMG! How are you going to pay your bills??? Here is where there is a common error in thinking. The employee and employer set the wage. Obviously the person was not worth more than $3.00/hr. The free market has decided that the wage was $3.00/hr. This was acceptable to the employee otherwise he would not have taken the job had he thought he was worth more.
Let's apply this to todays standards, the same worker would not have the job because it is illegal to hire a worker for under the minimum wage. In addition, the worker is unemployed, without skills, unable to better himself and to increase his earning potential due to the minimum wage. Taxpayers are now paying for him to be at a standstill with unemployment or other social programs rather than him increasing his earning potential by learning a trade at $3.00/hr. Not to mention, because of the minimum wage the employer has to charge more for his product to compensate for the minimum wage requirements that the government had set. Is it Government's role to control the wages that private businesses offer to their employees???
Here, read up on some articles and you might learn something.

Watch Your Back...
Through all of this unification of the great American people and the eventual military action against Osama bin Laden, we must also be aware of our government over-stepping its constitutional bounds and infringing on the very freedoms that make our nation great. Most people wonder why I am Libertarian and ask me about my party's platform. One specific portion of the Libertarian platform calls for reducing the size of the federal government. The government right now is too evasive. In the past it has functioned without all of the "programs" put in place. As we all know, the Liberals voucher for a larger, bigger and even global extent for the United States government. However, the more conservative agenda tries to restrict the size of government. The Republicans claim that they are the more conservative group out of the bunch, but why do they keep on expanding government?
First, I do not agree with federalizing airport security. Why? By instilling more government employees we, as the working American citizen, pay these wages through our taxes. Since these employees are paid by the United States government they will more likely vote Democratic because they know that the Liberals are more inclined to increase their wages. This is a blatant attempt to gain more power through the newly federal airport security employee and further increase the size of the federal government. However, this works the other way also?the private sector would vote more with the Republicans for the less restrictions they would impose therefore leaving it up to the airlines to find a solution for airport security. Where do we find a balance? I would go for specific security guidelines, but keep the workers out of the paychecks of the American people. It is the airlines responsibility to pay these workers the appropriate wage for the important job that they do not government. If the customers of a specific airline do not feel safe from harm's way then the airline will have to solve the issue (one more thing that government doesn't have to spend billions of dollars studying). I can probably talk all day about this issue, but to be more informed all you have to do is watch the news media...airport security is a hot topic these days.
Second, National ID cards are a communistic idea that does not work. China has problems keeping tabs on the billions and billions of people there even though every citizen supposedly has an ID card to carry around. This is further infringing on the rights of our personal freedom. Why? The government should not have any way of cataloging every citizen by a certain code...I'll explain this further in the next paragraph. Why do we think that by having a National ID card we would thwart any wrongdoing? If somebody is going to commit a crime they will do it regardless if they have an ID card or not. Furthermore, do you think that these terrorists play by the rules? This is just illogical thinking from the Liberals, similar to how they think about gun control. "If we get all the guns away from the citizens' then crime will decrease." As studies have shown the reverse effect is true, the more guns in private citizen's possession the lower the crime-rate. So you think that the criminals get their guns by legal means? You must be joking.
Lastly, history shows us that in the time of crisis we have "temporarily" exchanged certain freedoms for either security or safety. How we all remember the speed limit and its existence today. The speed limit was a "temporary" solution to solve the nation's oil crisis. Temporary? Why do I still see speed limits on our roads if it was a temporary solution to the oil crisis? We are not in an oil crisis now...why do we still have speed limits? Another big issue that seems to go by the citizens of the United States is the income tax. Enacted as a "temporary" solution to fund the American involvement in World War II, the United States taxes are still here today. Why? World War II is over as far as I know. Why do we continue to have the income tax? Under our socialistic President Franklin Roosevelt, the American people tolerated some sort of national identification through the Social Security Act. The Social Security Act rationed out a sequence of numbers for every American for identification. A good program...no. Profiling of every American citizen...definitely. Why do we continually give out our social security number for things that don't even pertain to "social security?" Why do I have to give my social security number to get a bank account? Why did I have to put my social security number on my college exams? If you think that your social security number not used for identification purposes then you are naive. Next time you put your social security number on a piece of paper ask yourself, "For what reason does this person need my social security number?"
In conclusion, in the words of Michael Savage from his radio talk show The Savage Nation, beware of the government-media complex. Through the media can the government brainwash the feeble-minded to advance their agenda. Even though we may be in a heightened state of alertness from the terrorist attacks, we must also be alert on the subtle things that the government may impose on us that will infringe or erase away some of our freedoms and civil liberties. Be on the watch out for politicians like Senator Hillary Clinton who will endanger everything that America stands for, just to gain political power. Get involved with national and local politics because it dictates the future of your America.

We Still Know What You Did In The White House...
Why can't this goon go away? Why can't Former Criminal President Clinton go away? Why does he consistently permeate his whacked up morality into mainstream America? You know why? The Liberal Media just Loves those Criminal Clintons. You cannot tell me with a straight face that Jr. Senator Clinton is not gearing up to campaign for President? Not only does she take advantage of our government system, she thinks we are dumb and that we cannot see pass that fake smile of hers. What is Criminal President Clinton going to write about anyways? How he had his cronies bring over kegs to watch the interns put on a show in the oval office? How about getting some "head" while innocent Serbians die in their own country from our bombs. Oh, and do you need a place to stay? Well if you contribute to the DNC we can shack you up in the Lincoln's bedroom if the price is right. Sure, maybe he'll even throw in some interns as an extra bonus. Give me a Break. How about this Con"did"it guy? Is he going to get off as easily as Criminal Clinton will? We need somebody that is going to shrink the size of Government...I don't mean a little bit...I mean a whole lot. We need somebody that will stand up for our rights as Citizens and will uphold every single word that is contained in our Constitution. We need a Libertarian.

The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
I don't know if you realize that the teachings of Ayn Rand have had some major influence on the Libertarian Party. Don't worry, I won't bore you about the details of how her work influenced the Libertarian Party, however, I will mention one thing about this book that I happened to pick off the shelf of my bookcase, The Fountainhead. So far one quote, in the all two pages that I have read, had me thinking very deeply in what is happening to the people in America, but first I will give you the quote. This is taken from a scene where the character, Howard Roark, stands at the edge of a cliff:
"These rocks, he thought, are here for me; waiting for the drill, the dynamite and my voice; waiting to be split, ripped, pounded, reborn; waiting for the shape my hands will give them." - Ayn Rand
Why do I think that this is so profound? Why do I take interest in this one quote that stands out from the rest of the other statements that Howard Roark makes? Superficially we can tell that Ayn Rand expounds her feelings that if there are resources available from nature, then from our ability we can use this to mold and shape the earth into whatever we want. What we don't know is that Ayn Rand has exalted Mr. Roark into another plane of man's ego. Yes, we do control mother nature, however it is the individual's belief in himself that can only accomplish this task. The feeling that we are "Master's of the Universe" (although we know that engineers hold this title) gives us the power to mold and control nature. Ayn Rand teaches us that man can do anything if only he believes in himself. Maybe for this reason this quote caught my attention and made me hold back further reading to think about the meaning of this statement. This relates to our everyday lives where we have left-leaning people trying to break down the almighty individual. We are a free nation, and what makes us unique is our individualism. Why would we want to categorize people and impose quotas to accept certain races or colors for work or school, instead of looking at their personal ability and knowledge? Why do we celebrate diversity, doesn't it just divide us further to try to point out how different we are? You are a person and an individual, believe in yourself and you can make changes in somebody's life and in affect, the world. If you have to be cocky about it...that is fine too...
