Do what you want...when you want to.

I'm sitting here at an Airport pissed off. Why? Because of my parents request of making me do something that I did not want to do. Doing so has caused me stress to no end and also stress to my family and other people...why do they do this? Good question, because simply they do not care about what I want but what they want. I'm sick and tired of playing this game. This makes me not want to come home in a very, very, very long time. (I can't stay away too long as I would miss my nieces too much.)

I'm trying to keep this in perspective as I blog... But you have your own life to live...nobody controls that. I have no idea why I agreed to this situation and I will NEVER again let this happen. I always did what I wanted to do in the past...why should this change? I wanted to create harmony and make my parents happy...but quite frankly to do that is either to lose a part of yourself and eventually have them live your life for you. Fuck that! I can NOT please them but I can definitely continue to do things that make me happy and successful.

What a learning lesson this has been for me this trip. Now I have to go home and start mending things for myself and to continue to get back on track.

Blogging and the future

I was driving to Pappasitos with someone very special to me and I realized that I have been blogging since before it went BIG on the Internet. Don't believe me...try going here: http://www.geocities.com/Genghis1227. If you go to My Links > Archives you will find a bunch of articles I wrote in the past...so it brings me to why am I complaining about this... I made a pretty successful attempt to create a larger based community when PromoteLiberty.org went with PostNuke but the hosting server crashed without a backup. I was pissed...who knows, my site could have been the myspace of the political realm (I can only dream.)

Nevertheless...I chose Myspace/Blogger to start blogging again...here I can keep up with friends and not worry about the webhosting bit. Maybe in the future I can make another "revolutionary" attempt on the web. Right now I will settle to rant & rave about issues.

Thank You for Smoking

I don't normally switch favorite movies often. My last favorite movie was Schindler's List, however I just finished watching Thank You for Smoking and it has now become my favorite. I enjoyed the focus on personal choice and the ability for individuals to make their own decisions. I'm not big on the Hollywood left, but this movie hits me right on with its message.

MySpace/Blogger and the Bandwagon

Oh boy, here we go again. I guess PromoteLiberty.org didn't work out too well after the server had crashed and the webhosting lost all of my data a few years back. The website has not been the same ever since the postnuke days. Well, here is my new blog...you can expect an opinionated commentary on current issues, news, personal strife, and humorous stories. I guess you can say that I have jumped on the MySpace.com/Blogger bandwagon but don't tell anybody else . In addition it saves me about $90 in webhosting fees and eventually I will redirect the traffic to PromoteLiberty.org to this blog. I intend to port all of my old articles to this blog, however I don't know how to post date some of this stuff so I may have to lump it into one day. Oh well, enjoy and feel free to leave me any comments.

Who will you vote for?

Today is the day that Americans go to the polls to select a President for the next 4 years. Whether or not we determine the president tonight or a month from now we should consider what our framers of the constitution intended for this country. Do we want a larger, nanny-state government? Do we want to continue to meddle in foreign entanglements that send our boys in harms way? Do we want a President that flip-flops and makes his decisions based upon polls? Whether you have already decided to vote for a particular candidate please keep this in mind. They both will expand the government, they both do not hold to the principals of our forefathers, they both do not want to see any other third party succeed in the future. Are we a bipartisan nation? Or are we individuals that have our own ideals? Is there only two sides to the political spectrum? This blogger endorses Michael Badnarik for president. If you have not decided please consider casting your ballot for individual freedom and smaller government.

I can't watch the Olympics

I just can't seem to get myself to extensively watch the Olympics. It reminds me that I need to get out there and start exercising. Go USA!
